Robert Edwin Field, President

Robert Edwin Field, President, is the founder of The Manor Group which built, owns and operates apartment complexes and hotels, has developed various forms of housing for sale, and more recently is co-developing mixed use communities with as many as 2,800 dwelling units in East Central Europe.

Field has also served as executive producer for three motion pictures (Liquid Sky, Diamond Men and the soon-to-be-released Perestroika); has co-founded and helped lead not-for-profit organizations in the realms of public health, drug policy reform and harm reduction, and the education of inner city youngsters; has quietly funded local, national and international worthy causes; and has been a political activist on the local, state and national levels. Field was Arlen Specter's State Finance Chairman when Specter was elected to his first Senate term in 1980. (Field is currently a registered Democrat - "Because the Republican Party left me.")

Field attended Oberlin College, the National University of Mexico, and is a graduate with a major in economics from the University of California at Berkeley. He has resided in Lancaster County for almost 40 years. He has five children and five grandchildren.

He's the old guy who is frequently seen handing out newsletters at the Central Market on Saturday mornings and occasionally on Penn Square on Tuesdays or Fridays over the noon hour. He has always been bad with names and faces but he welcomes conversation and frank exchanges of view points.

Matthew "Matt" Henderson is a recent graduate of Millersville University with dual majors in Philosophy and Political Science. He joined NewsLanc as a reporter in October, 2007. Along with other NewsLanc staff members, Matt can often be seen handing out newsletters at the Central Market on Saturday mornings and on Penn Square over the noon hour either on Tuesdays or Fridays.

Douglas "Doug" McVay is the webmaster for NewsLanc.com in addition to several other sites. He primarily does policy research and analysis focusing on substance abuse and drug control issues. A writer/cultural critic, Doug is also an avid bicyclist. He too can sometimes be seen in downtown Lancaster handing out newsletters.
